Indeed, it was the start of something good 14 years ago on October 19, 2006! On that date, the new emergency shelter on Fourth Street had been completed. Before officially opening for guests, the first Empty Bowls fundraiser was held in the new building.

As you know, the 2020 event was postponed to next year. We remain grateful for your support and those of our donors – the restaurants, bakeries, artists, and supporters who donated soup, bread, bowls, and gifts.
